by:admin May 14, 2025 0 Comments

Pneumatic Hose Lockouts commonly known as pneumatic lockout devices, help isolate pneumatic energy sources. They prevent unexpected re-connection of compressed air during machine maintenance. As a result, they reduce the risk of mechanical accidents and ensure a safer workplace.

Why Choose Pneumatic Lockout Devices?

Many traditional systems require costly lock valves. However, pneumatic lockouts offer a practical and budget-friendly alternative. You can attach them directly to the air hose connector without modifying your existing compressed air system.

Key Benefits:

  • Protect workers by preventing accidental equipment start-up
  • Support OSHA-compliant lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Install quickly without special tools or system changes
  • Reuse multiple times thanks to durable materials

How the Pneumatic Lockout Works

This device fits directly onto the air hose connector, which connects machinery to its compressed air source. You can use it with connector sizes of 63.5 mm, 95.2 mm, or 125 mm. Moreover, the center hole allows you to lock the hose in place permanently. You can also secure the end of the hose using the integrated side loops.

To complete the lockout, insert a padlock with a shackle diameter of 63.5 mm or 71.4 mm. This step ensures that the air line stays disconnected until you remove the lockout.

Where to Use Pneumatic Hose Lockouts

Because of their versatility and safety benefits, you’ll find pneumatic lockouts in various industries:

  • Manufacturing and assembly plants
  • Automotive and aerospace facilities
  • Food and beverage processing
  • HVAC maintenance
  • Utility and energy sectors

Boost Workplace Safety with Pneumatic Lockout Devices

When you include pneumatic hose lockouts in your safety protocols, you take a crucial step toward preventing workplace accidents. Not only do these devices protect personnel, but they also prevent damage to valuable machinery. Furthermore, they help maintain compliance with OSHA lockout/tagout regulations.
